Technology has limited the work of men and also constituted a lot towards the growth of mankind. The credit definitely goes to nano technology. With nano sized particles, researchers have come up with so many applications in the field of electronics, medicine, surface coatings, electrical, energy, mechanical and many more.

When equal amounts of nanosized boron and nitride are chemically acted, it becomes iso electronic and the resulting product takes up a hexagonal shape. Among the polymers, this is the most stable and corresponds to graphite. For their soft and stable nature, they are used in lubrication process and as an additive in cosmetic products.

The are many properties exhibited by a boron nitride powder. They are thermal, chemical and physical property. In air, till the temperature of 1000 degree Celsius it is stable. In vacuum it can sustain up to 1400 degree Celsius and in an inert atmosphere it has capability to withstand up to 2800 degree Celsius.

Excellent Uses of Boron Nitride Powder

The first occurrence of the mineral was found in the rocks at Tibet. Thereby, in the year 2013, the substance was confirmed as a mineral and researchers came up with a lot of applications that use boron nitride.

Wherever there is a need for polymer and lubrication, this powder is being used. This acts as a very good lubricant in high and low temperatures even in oxidizing atmosphere. Also, as they are used in vacuum too, they are applied in space applications.

In the cosmetics industry, these are used in foundations, pencils, make-up eye shadows and in many lipsticks. Skin care products too make use of this powder.

Some of the other applications include low-friction sealing agent, plasma arc insulators, micro circuit packaging, vacuum melting crucibles, high temperature fixings and supporters in furnaces and in the high sealing, brazing and metalizing fixtures. They are also usually called as white graphite for their excellent pure white color.
